As the activities below indicate, I am passionate about amplifying postgraduate student voices in higher education. I am interested in all aspects of academic publishing, from peer review to production. I have been involved in designing, writing and editing various student-focused magazines and journals since 2015. I have experience teaching at all levels of undergraduate and postgraduate taught study.
2023-2024
- Participated in Community of Practice for Lived Experience workshops as part of City of Lab at the University of Nottingham, with a focus on centring lived experience in Nottingham-based research and policy.
- Became Book Reviews Editor for Discourse Studies.
- Reviewed papers for Pragmatics and Society, Forum for Linguistic Studies, Journal of Social Distress and Homelessness, and Discourse, Context & Media.
- Gave a guest lecture to students at Newcastle on TikTok and mental health.
2022-2023
- Co-organiser of Discourse and Politics Conference on Discursive Approaches to Crisis.
- Research Assistant with the Digital Transformation Hub, University of Nottingham – reviewing scripts about Gale Digital Scholar Lab tools.
- Reviewed book proposal for Palgrave Macmillan.
